Renishaw Hall and Gardens 2 miles and 6 minute
journey
Renishaw Hall and Gardens have been the home of the Sitwell Family for
nearly 400 years. Built between 1625 and 1808 by members of the family,
Renishaw is an architectural gem, which is still very much a family
home. Rightly celebrated for the fabulous Italianate gardens, the formal
garden was laid out in 1895 by Sir George Sitwell (1860-1943) in the
classical Italianate style.
Opening Hours: The Hall is open for guided tours on Friday’s throughout
the season at 12.30pm and 2.30pm. Booking advisable. The gardens, museum,
gallery exhibitions, café and shop are open 30th March to 30th September,

Magna Science Adventure Centre 10 miles and
28 minute journey
Magna is the UK’s first science adventure centre, set in the gigantic
and awe-inspiring former Templeborough Steelworks, a place that is guaranteed
to amaze. Be immersed in the sights and sounds of the history of steel
making and explore the incredible interactive pavilions of Fire, Water,
Earth and Air creamed with fascinating hands-on activities. Let off
steam in Aqua-Tek one of the UK’s largest outdoor water play areas and
Sci-Tek, one of Europe’s largest outdoor playgrounds. Opening Hours:

Tropical Butterfly House, Wildlife and Falconry
Centre 10 miles and 23 minute journey
Encounter the exotic and experience a wild family day out! Get close
to free-flying butterflies and birds, as well as friendly, free-roaming
farm animals. Meet the residents of Meerkat Mansion and Prairie Dog
Camp, along with snakes, birds of prey and creepy crawlies in unforgettable
Animal Encounters. See magnificent birds of prey and free-flying Macaws
in the Aerial Antics display and enjoy themed events throughout the
year with crafts, activities and games for all ages.
